Y. Kuriyama et al., MECHANISM AND POTENTIAL-ENERGY SURFACE FOR PHOTOISOMERIZATION OF STILBENE IN ZEOLITE NANOSPACE, Chemistry Letters, (8), 1998, pp. 843-844
The photoisomerization of cis- and trans-stilbenes adsorbed in zeolite
supercage was studied by means of Raman spectroscopy for in situ anal
ysis of the isomer ratio in the photostationary state. It was found th
at the isomerization proceeds mainly through the singlet excited state
s for NaY and triplet excited states for KY, and also a new potential
energy surface for the photoisomerization was proposed.
