Aluminosilicates, differing in their composition and their crystallini
ty, are labeled with radioactive molybdenum. Mo-99 tied to the alumino
silicate network decays to Tc-99m. The parameters that determine the s
eparation of Tc-99m from Mo-99 are studied in crystalline samples (Mo-
exchanged Y zeolite) and in amorphous samples (Mo-exchanged collapsed
zeolites and Mo-exchanged pumice stone). The efficiency of the separat
ion process is attributed to the environment of molybdenum in the soli
d.
