Abstract
The authors propose an enhanced location tracking algorithm for the mo bile PNNI scheme in wireless ATM networks. The main contribution is th e use of the dynamic reachability scope depending on the mobile endpoi nt's movement rate and terminating call rate without any modifications to the mobile PNNI scheme. As a result, the proposed algorithm can re duce the location management cost compared with the original mobile PN NI scheme having a fixed scope value.
