Abstract
The first evidence for a new spontaneous fission decay has been observ ed in the evaporation residues for the reaction Si-30 + U-238 at the b ombarding energy of 158 MeV. The measured half-life is 54(-21)(+98) s and the production cross section is 180(-120)(+240) pb. The observed s pontaneous fission decay is a possible candidate for the spontaneous f ission decay of (264)Sg or (263)Db after the beta-decay of (263)Sg.
