Abstract
The formation of ethyl -(2-substituted-4,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-oxoaceta tes in high yield, with negligible byproducts, by reaction of 2-substi tuted 4,5-dimethoxyphenyl bromides with diethyl oxalate using a plug f low reactor is reported.
