Abstract
Recent advances in multi-electrode recording have brought us closer to understanding how visual information is encoded by populations of ret inal ganglion cells. By monitoring the visual responses of many gangli on cells at once, it is now possible to examine how ganglion cells act together to encode a visual scene.
