Abstract
In this paper, we demonstrate that Ewald's method can be employed to s peed up the convergence of complex images as well as quasidynamic imag es in the spatial-domain Green's function of planar periodic structure s in layered media. A comparison of the convergence speed of Ewald's m ethod versus spectral summation is given. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
