TRANSVERSE CHROMATISM OF A GRADIENT OPTICAL-SYSTEM WITH SMALL BREAKDOWNS OF THE AXIAL SYMMETRY

This paper shows that the coefficients of the paraxial chromatic aberr ations of an axisymmetric optical system are associated with transvers e chromatism constant over the image field that results from small bre akdowns of the axial symmetry in the optical system.
