Abstract
In this paper we construct discrete spaces for fields whose curl or di v vanishes but for which one cannot find potentials. In electromagneti sm such fields appear when the problem domain is not topologically tri vial. The discrete spaces are constructed with Whitney elements in sim plicial meshes.
