Abstract
This paper presents a new formulation of axisymmetric upwind finite el ement method and a composite mesh scheme with a new sliding element. T he advantage of this method is that the computing time can be consider ably reduced in comparison with that of the conventional composite mes h schemes. Furthermore we achieve simplicity of the upwinding formulat ion and accurate calculation of the motional term in the eddy current problems.
