Abstract
Dommel's approach applied to simulate electrical parameters in a trans ient analysis of electromagnetic devices, such as electrical machines and transformers, is presented in this paper, Equations of electric ci rcuit and equations of magnetic fields are taken into account simultan eously coupling nodal analysis and 2D FEM. The inductances and capacit ances are treated like one-dimensional finite elements leading to a sy mmetrical matrix solved by a step-by-step technique. The formulation w as validated comparing numerical results and experimental ones.
