Abstract
Total balance and evaluation of production processes taking the evalua tion of metallic surface cleaning systems as an example Abstract In ev aluating production processes for plant optimisation as well as for in stallation comparisons, nowadays the aspects of the complete requireme nts are only partially taken into account. Whereas techno-economical o ptimisation of production processes is currently applied by engineerin g processes, only few concepts exist for the quantification of ecologi cal impacts. The main focus of this paper is to consider the ecologica l dimension through a process oriented ecological balance methodology. This methodology is based on the concept of life cycle analysis (LCA) of products and is applied in the field of metallic surface cleaning processes.
