Abstract
To calculate magnetic global force on permanent magnets, several appro aches can be used with the Finite Element Method (FEM), They are eithe r based on Maxwell's stress tensor, on the energetic principle or on t he equivalent source models, The accuracy of the results for a given m esh is an important criterion for the choice between them, Description and comparison of these methods applied to the calculation of magneti c global forces on rigid permanent magnets (constant magnetization) is done. Results for two different meshes are compared with analytical r eference.
