Abstract
Saddle-shaped [7]circulene (1) is prepared by an extremely simple proc edure that involves a 2,15-ethano-bridged hexahelicene intermediate. R eduction properties of the [7]circulene have been investigated by mean s of voltammetry and ESR spectroscopy and compared with those of plana r [6]circulene (coronene) (2).
