Various methods for sampling of voltage and current signals in electri
cal drives are analyzed and compared. Two new methods for sampling the
discontinuous voltage and current signals in a pulsewidth modulation
drive are proposed. The methods are based on sampling the instantaneou
s values and locally averaged values (over one carrier period) of sign
als. Analytical expressions for adjustment of digital current regulato
rs and achievable bandwidths with the various sampling methods are der
ived, The results are experimentally verified.
