AN OPTIMIZING COLOR CONTROLLER

A color controller that optimizes spectral reflectance and other color spaces is presented. The controller uses a reflectance-based process- response model, from which it dynamically calculates models for other color spaces as needed. color control through reflectance optimization has several benefits, including minimization of metamerism. Dye tunin g is also independent of grade, resulting in fast commissioning. Color -control results from three ills are presented. Colored paper grades, the coloring process, and color measurement are discussed. A brief out line of color-coordinate systems is appended.
