By incorporating micro-transmitters into a a given DAB-SFN (Digital Au
dio Broadcasting - Single Frequency Network), service providers are ab
le to replace the information content of a specified single channel in
side the predefined ensemble so that it is of local interest. There mu
st be no interference with neighbouring channels, which must still be
receivable within the small radiation field (e.g. 300 m(2)) of the mic
ro-transmitter without loss of information content. The consequent tec
hnical problems are analysed and discussed and measurements are report
ed which were derived from an experiment setup to demonstrate the oper
ating principle. Conclusions and outlook are given.
