Hy. Hu et al., INTERPHASE FLUCTUATION PROPAGATION AND SUPERPOSITION MODEL FOR BOILING NUCLEATION, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 41(22), 1998, pp. 3483-3489
Although boiling has been the subject of numerous investigations, ther
e are still a number of fundamental nucleation phenomena needed to be
explained consistently. A new proposed physical model termed the 'inte
rphase fluctuation propagation and superposition model', was used to s
uccessfully explain the physical nature of heterogeneous nucleation pr
ocesses. the new concepts of 'evaporating space' and 'fictitious boili
ng' were quoted here to explain nucleate boiling at the microscale lev
el and resulted in a significantly enhanced understanding and a much c
learer representation of the physical significance of the fundamental
parameters that govern nucleate boiling. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd
