Abstract
Cycloaddition of diethylphosphonomethyl nitrile oxide to the enamine f rom ethyl acetoacetate produces onyl-3-diethoxyphosphonylmethyl-5-meth ylisoxazole; condensation of the phosphonate with aldehydes and ketone s gives 3-alkenylisoxazoles that are cleaved by hexacarbonylmolybdenum to afford unsaturated alpha-alkoxycarbonyl-beta-diketones.
