Abstract
A number of properties of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate magnesium salt s (LAS(2)Mg) in aqueous solutions as compared to sodium salts have bee n measured, such as: surface tension, critical micelle concentration, specific conductivity, viscosity, solubility, biodegradability, toxici ty and water hardness stability.Other tests such as the zein, wetting, laundry detergency performance and dishwashing tests have been conduc ted as well. Some specific properties of magnesium salts have been con firmed or established and potential new applications identified in the detergents and cosmetics sectors.
