Abstract
A formula is given for the Brauer class of the endomorphism algebra Q x End(A(f)) of the abelian variety A(f)/Q attached by Shimura to a new form f is an element of S-2 (N, epsilon) as a product of quaternion a lgebras and a term coming from the character epsilon.
