A finite basis set formed from B-splines is constructed in momentum sp
ace for the Schrodinger-Coulomb problem. The pseudospectrum of the bas
is set is generated and used to evaluate the Bethe logarithm for groun
d-state hydrogen. The method is also used to solve a relativistic vers
ion of the Schrodinger equation that cannot be treated in coordinate s
pace.
