Abstract
Based on the idea of the homogeneous balance method, a simple and effi cient method is proposed for obtaining exact solutions of nonlinear pa rtial differential equations. Some equations are investigated by this means and new solitary wave solutions or singular traveling wave solut ions are found. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
