Abstract
In a study on the metabolism of flavonoids, the isoflavone glycoside d aidzin was orally administered to rats. Urine samples were collected a nd treated, with beta-glucuronidase and arylsulfatase. Aglycone daidzei n (M3) and other three metabolites, 3',4',7-trihydroxyisoflavone (M1), 4',7-dihydroxyisoflavanone (M2) and 4',7-dihydroxyisoflavan (M4) were isolated from the urine following treatment with enzymes. The structu res of M1, M2 and M4 were determined on the basis of chemical and spec tral data.
