Y. Li et al., EFFECT OF ADDITIVES ON CLOUD POINT OF DODECYLPOLYOXYETHYLENE POLYOXYPROPYLENE ETHER NONIONIC SURFACTANT, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 19(9), 1998, pp. 1457-1461
The effects of additives, such as salts, alcohol, carboxylic acid and
ionic surfactant on the cloud ponit of nonionic surfactant dodecylpoly
oxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether were studied in the paper, It was f
ound that the change of CP value coursed by salts followed the Schott
additivity regulation and was determined by the characteristic of salt
s(such as charge of ions) and surfactants(such as group numbers of oxy
ethylene and oxypropylene); the effects of organic substances on the C
P value of nonionic surfactant varied if the additives have a differen
t kind of hydrophilic head or carbon chain length; the formation of mi
xmicell could be the reason why ionic surfactants greatly increased th
e CP value of nonionic surfactant, but more detail studies were needed
to find the regulation.
