Abstract
High-spin states in the neutron-deficient 113I nucleus have been inves tigated for the first time using the Ni-58(Ni-58,3pgamma) reaction. Ga mma-ray coincidence data were acquired with the Eurogam spectrometer i n conjunction with the Daresbury recoil mass separator. A deformed int ruder band has been established extending to a spin approaching 40HBAR and excitation energy 30 MeV. A possible structure for the band is di scussed. This is the first evidence for such a band in this mass regio n with Z>51.
