Finite transmission times between neurons, referred to as delays, appe
ar in hardware implementation of neural networks and may interfere wit
h information processing by inducing oscillations. In some networks th
ese oscillations are transients. In this work, we examine these in a t
wo-neuron network, and we show analytically that the duration of such
transients increases exponentially with the delay.
