The Modified Local Green's Function Method (MLGFM) is an integral tech
nique that has been used to solve several problems of continuum mechan
ics in the last decade. This method may be understood as an extension
of the Galerkin Boundary Element Method, and its main feature is to ma
ke use of the properties of a Green's Function projection associated t
o the problem, without its explicit knowledge. A preceding paper, acco
mpanying this one, presented the MLGFM formulation. In this work, some
numerical examples explain important points of the method, e.g. flux
convergence, processing time, application to uni- and multicellular bi
dimensional potential problems, unicellular bidimensional elasticity a
nd unicellular Mindlin plates bending. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
