Abstract
The absolute configuration of the delta-oxo acid 11, obtained through an asymmetric Michael-type reaction involving the activated chiral alp ha,beta-unsaturated oxazoline 7, was established by comparison of the CD curves of the derived (+)-octalone 14 and (+)-nootkatone 15.
