The registration efficiency as a function both energy and angle of inc
idence was determined for alpha particles in Makrofol E. A simple expe
rimental technique has been used which remarkably reduces the number o
f detectors and exposures necessary to cover the range of energies and
angles of interest (0-8.8 MeV, resp. 0 degrees-90 degrees). A procedu
re was derived to separate the effects due to simultaneous registratio
n of two kinds of alpha particles from the Po-212/Bi-212 source. In pr
inciple, the described method of determination of the registration eff
iciency can be used for any detector material and etching conditions.
