Abstract
The registration efficiency as a function both energy and angle of inc idence was determined for alpha particles in Makrofol E. A simple expe rimental technique has been used which remarkably reduces the number o f detectors and exposures necessary to cover the range of energies and angles of interest (0-8.8 MeV, resp. 0 degrees-90 degrees). A procedu re was derived to separate the effects due to simultaneous registratio n of two kinds of alpha particles from the Po-212/Bi-212 source. In pr inciple, the described method of determination of the registration eff iciency can be used for any detector material and etching conditions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
