Abstract
A method for determination of carbon content in natural silicate cryst als has been elaborated using the C-12(d,n)N-13 reaction. Etching of c rystal surfaces by acid solutions is proposed to remove the pollutant surface layers. Carbon contents varying from 8 to 100 ppm were measure d for olivine, orthopyroxene and garnet crystals.
