A. Khadir et al., ENTHALPIMETRIC STUDY OF TRANSFER OF HYDROXYLATED SOLUTES FROM WATER TO MICELLAR SOLUTIONS, Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Chemistry, 40(3), 1992, pp. 193-202
In order to elucidate the role of cosurfactant molecules in micellar s
olutions, the relative apparent molar enthalpies of dilution of a surf
actant in aqueous solutions, and those of transfer from water to micel
lar solutions of some hydroxylated compounds have been determined from
the calorimetric heats of dilution at 25-degrees-C. From the analysis
of experimental data, there are clearly evidenced the structural chan
ges in the micellar structure as well as the effect of a solute which,
depending on its nature, plays the role of a specific probe of its mi
croscopic environment.
