M. Ganapathi et M. Touratier, DYNAMIC INSTABILITY OF LAMINATES SUBJECTED TO TEMPERATURE-FIELD, Journal of engineering mechanics, 124(10), 1998, pp. 1166-1168
The dynamic instability of laminated composite plates subjected to the
rmal load is investigated. The formulation is based on first-order she
ar deformation theory and Lagrange's equation of motion. The nonlinear
ity due to moderately large deformation of the laminates is considered
using von Karaman's assumption. The eigenvalue type of solution for t
he nonlinear problem is evaluated through an iterative procedure. The
boundaries of the primary instability region are presented using the r
elationship between the excitation frequency of the temperature load a
nd the amplitude of the dynamic load for various levels of amplitude o
f vibrations of the laminates.
