Abstract
The relationship between paraquat toxicity and polyamine levels was an alyzed in Arabidopsis wild-type and gi-3 plants. Paraquat treatment le d to an increase in putrescine, but not of spermidine and spermine con tent. Additionally, polyamine feeding offered high levels of protectio n against paraquat toxicity with spermidine being the most effective p rotectant.
