Abstract
In this talk, I describe a general analysis of CP violation arising fr om misalignment between quark and squark mass eigenstates. Particular attention is given to the possibility of large enhancement effects due to the top-quark mass. For semileptonic decays of charged mesons, K--> pi(0)mu(+)nu(mu), D+ --> (K) over bar(0)mu(+)nu(mu), and B+ --> (D ) over bar(0) tau(+)nu(tau), the transverse lepton polarization P-l(pe rpendicular to) is a T-odd observable that can provide a good signal o f these effects. It should be noted that, for a favorable choice of pa rameters, P-mu(perpendicular to) in K-mu 3(+) decay will be detectable in the ongoing KEK experiment and holds a promising prospect for disc overy in the proposed BNL experiment. Furthermore, P-tau(perpendicular to) in B+/- decay could well be within the reach of B factories, but the decay P-tau(perpendicular to) in D+/- is not sufficiently intense for detection at the proposed tau-charm factory.
