The angular distribution of neutrinos (recoil nuclei) in muon capture
by a nucleus with arbitrary spin J(i) for an allowed Gamow-Teller tran
sition is considered by taking into account hyperfine effects. This an
gular distribution is shown to include a correlation that is highly se
nsitive to the form factor g(P) of the induced pseudoscalar interactio
n and arises only if the initial mesic atom is aligned. It is shown th
at, for the same transition, allowance must be made for the sensitivit
y of the nuclear model to the properly considered hyperfine dependence
of the muon-capture rate to extract the g(P) value. An estimate is gi
ven for the T-noninvariant transverse polarization of neutrons for muo
n capture by a Li-6 nucleus with a decay into a quasistationary 2(+) s
tate of the three-particle alpha + n + n continuum.
