Abstract
This case report describes aplasia of the internal carotid artery (ICA
) in a preterm infant. The collateral circulation could be mapped with
power angio mode (PAM) and was confirmed by conventional angiography.
In the literature, there is no case of ICA aplasia diagnosed at this
early age. PAM is a method for imaging infantile cerebral vessels as r
eliably as angiography.
