Abstract
We have reduced the linewidth of two distributed-feedback 1.65 mum dio de lasers to 70 kHz by means of optical feedback from a mirror. This w as determined from the beat note between two independent diode lasers. The variation of line-narrowing characteristics with different amount s of optical feedback was studied. Continuous frequency tuning of 7 GH z at constant current and temperature was demonstrated.
