COLOMBIAN SERIAL SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

The editorial sector resposible for the seriated Colombian scientific publications is herein characterized as a result of an evaluation exer cise made by the Colombian Institute for the Development of Science an d Technology ''Francisco Jose de Caldas'' (COLCIENCIAS), and the Colom bian Association for the Advancement of Science (A.C.A.C), in May 1996 . The methodology used in this exercise tries to understand the seriat ed publications as an editorial product and its formal possibilities o f circulation, based on the editorial quality indicators, visibility a nd norms made for that purpose.
