Abstract
The ability of the velocity ratio parameter lambda=(U-1 - U-2)/(U-1 U-2) to scale linear stability amplification rates for a compressible reacting and compressible variable-density mixing layer is reported. E xtensions to the definition of lambda to reflect the dominance of oute r modes in the flow structure at significant levels of heat release an d compressibility are proposed and their performance is evaluated.
