A FORTRAN program is presented which solves the Sturm-Liouville proble
m for a system of coupled second-order differential equations by the f
inite difference method of the second order using the iterative Richar
dson extrapolation of the difference eigensolutions on a sequence of d
oubly condensed meshes. The same extrapolational procedure and error e
stimations are applied to the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. Zero-val
ue (Dirichlet) or zero-gradient (Neumann) boundary conditions are cons
idered. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
