Abstract
Baeyer-Villiger biooxidation of prochiral 3-substituted cyclobutanones were carried out using the fungus Cunninghamella echinulata. beta-sub stituted gamma-butyrolactones were thus obtained in high ees tee great er than or equal to 98%).
