Abstract
The cavitation erosion rate for 316 stainless steel in mercury was fou nd to increase in a nonlinear fashion with the maximum applied power. In addition, the incremental increase in erosion was observed to decre ase with increased power in water, yet increased six to seven times wh en mercury was used as the cavitating fluid.
