Abstract
The authors report an 2 children with pernicious anemia, sisters, who presented with hyper-melanosis as one of the clinical manifestations. The hypermelanosis disappeared with adequate treatment of vitamin B-12 deficiency. Vitamin B-12 deficiency should be considered in the diffe rential diagnosis of a child presenting with hyperpigmentation and mac rocytic red cell indices.
