KINETICS OF RAPID HETEROGENEOUS REACTIONS ACCOMPANIED BY THE RESHAPING OF SUPPORTED CATALYST CRYSTALLITES

Using the Monte Carlo technique, we analyze the steady-state kinetics of the 2A + B-2 --> 2AB reaction occurring on a nanometer-sized crysta llite in the case when its shape depends on the amount of adsorbed B p articles. The simulations, carried out with a realistic ratio between the rates of the elementary steps, demonstrate that the adsorbate-indu ced catalyst reshaping may result in qualitatively new reaction regime s.
