E. Ono et al., THEORETICAL APPROACH ROBUST STABILITY AND FRONT WHEEL FOR IMPROVING THE VEHICLE MANEUVERABILITY BY ACTIVE STEERING CONTROL, Vehicle System Dynamics, 29, 1998, pp. 748-753
The unstabilization of limit-oversteer vehicles depends heavily on the
saturation characteristics of the rear cornering forces. In this pape
r, an anti-spin condition of vehicles under the saturation characteris
tics of the rear cornering forces is examined from the view point of r
obust stability control. Then, an active front wheel steering control
system satisfying the anti-spin condition is designed by H-infinity co
ntrol. Furthermore, vehicle maneuverability is improved by adaptive co
ntrol approach.
