Abstract
A number of IRAS galaxies appears rather luminous at X-rays, which cou ld be due to the presence of an active nucleus that otherwise is obscu red. X-ray observations offer suitable opportunities for detailed spat ial and spectral analyses of these galaxies, which will allow to asses s whether they possess active nuclei. We are currently working on ROSA T, ASCA and possibly SAX data of several such galaxies.
