The low-temperature electrical resistivities rho, magnetic susceptibil
ity chi and structure of Sb2Te3-xSex compounds (x = 0, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2,
3) have been investigated. In all the samples, the rho behavior with t
emperature T is metallic except in the case of the sample with x = 3.
We extract the electron-phonon coupling constant lambda by comparing o
ur experimental results with the Boltzmann transport theory. The high
residual electrical resistivity is explained as being due to the low-c
onduction electron density. All the compounds exhibit diamagnetic beha
vior, however, the magnetic susceptibility, chi(T) exhibits paramagnet
ic behavior with T.
