A new type of supported vanadium oxide catalyst V-BaCO3, which consist
s of barium orthovanadate Ba-3(VO4)(2) and BaCO3 phases, has been used
in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane. The catalyst with the rat
io of V/Ba from 0.1 to 0.3 exhibited high catalytic activity for oxida
tive dehydrogenation of ethane, with particularly high activity far et
hene production.
