Abstract
Microporous molybdenum containing silicalite-2 (Mo-MEL) has been synth esized hydrothermally, under aluminium free alkaline conditions. Physi cochemical characterization of the sample (XRD, FTIR, W-visible spectr a, TG/DTA) revealed the possible incorporation of molybdenum ions in t he zeolite framework. Redox properties of the Mo species present in th e sample has been studied by cyclic voltammetric technique. Mo-MEL was active in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde wi th a maximum selectivity of similar to 90% at about similar to 40% con version. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
